It's lots of fun to watch the nieces open their gifts and play with them and all their new stuff - and to me that's worth more than ANYTHING anyone could buy me at a store. I have told them now that if they really insist on giving me a gift that they make a donation to some charity in my name - the last two years they have come up with two really AWESOME charities and I am really glad that someone else is benefiting from the money that would have been a DVD or a shirt or something that I don't need anyway. "Stuff" is the last thing I need. It’s taken 3 years but I’ve finally convinced my family that it’s ok to not do all the obligatory gift exchanging.
