The cheap and transformitive power of paint

Until Hubby has his permanent, full-time job or I win the lottery, our hands are kind of tied when it comes to some of the major house improvements that we want to make.

And I’ll be honest – it’s kind of defeating to both of us at times to wait to exchange our fugly green carpet for some awesome wood laminate, but I think my hubby finally kicked the blues and rocked out our bedroom with an eclectic purple shade.

You see? Paint is cheap and it has the power to take a blah room and turn it into something new and fabulous. We’re also making our mark and through paint we keep making the house our own.
:)

This is what our room looked like pre-paint. Forgive its blurriness, we didn't have a good camera when we first moved.

Hubby’s been inspired lately to paint all of the bedrooms in our house – the guest bedroom and the office are next. For less than $100, we’ll have three “new” rooms. And hopefully add to the eventual resale value of our home. :)

Great color! I want to re-paint our bedroom, too. Hubby picked the color 3 years ago, claimed it matched the drapes, but I don’t agree. Then the furnace threw up soot everywhere and it won’t wash off completely. Also, the bedspread is plain and too close in color to the walls. I have no money right now, but I’m watching for a find at an estate sale or store closing.
The other way to liven up your space is to pack away all the decor and put out the things you’ve got in your closet/attic/basement.
