Why Don’t I Work Here?

I was taking a mental health break today at work when I saw this article from the New York Times entitled “Cuts Meet a Culture of Spending at Condé Nast.”

I love magazines – back when money wasn’t an option, I subscribed to several of them. Nowadays, I can barely read the ones that I have gifted to me! But my jaw dropped when I read this line that followed a reference to an upcoming party that GQ magazine is hosting for some Washington D.C. power players: “That is not the only expense involved. Several editorial employees will travel from New York for the evening. And they received an e-mail message recently reminding them to limit their expenses for the night — to $1,000 a person.”

Um … wow. If I were two people who worked for Conde Nast, I’d basically have my debt paid off through their “limit” of expenses.

Anyway – I got a kick out of this article and am currently polishing my resume. ;-p
