Debt Reduction 101

Today is my husband’s 32nd birthday. I’ve given a lot of thought over this post – I wanted to list out all of the frugal lessons that I’ve learned from him in our 10 years of friendship and now the two years that we’ve been living together.

And I haven’t come up with anything. But I know that I’m a better person financially for being with my hubby and that I’ve begun to absorb some of his better traits when it comes to managing my finances – not buying things unless I have the cash in hand to have it, establishing an emergency fund, wanting a debt-free future for ourselves and our eventual family.

And although the man could request anything for his birthday dinner tonight and even though I’d take him anywhere he wanted – his whim is as frugal as he is … he’d like one of the $5 pizzas from Little Caesars and a night in front of the TV. Just the two of us.

I’m a better person for knowing you honey – and I love you very much. Thanks for putting up with the Cat and I.
