I’m sorry that I’ve been absent as of late – I like to tell people that the upcoming wedding really doesn’t take up too much of my time, but all I have to do is look at this blog and realize that maybe the wedding doesn’t take up a lot of time, but it has sapped some of my mental energy.
Today is my last day of work before I head to Iowa for the last few days before Future Husband and I get married. The sheer amount of projects I need to slog through is enough to keep any wedding jitters at bay (although I had a dream last night that there was something wrong with the skirt of my wedding dress.)
So getting through work and making sure I don’t forget stuff like my veil or that clever pair of shorts that distributes my body weight somewhere other than my gut has been more on my mind than debt reduction. 🙂 Forgive me dear friends. I don’t know that I’ll be able to write more before the wedding, but when I return I’ll be back on track with my debt reduction.
In the meantime:
– Taxes were sent out yesterday. I have one word for you: “Ouch.” I got nicked by the state and feds for not withholding enough and ended up paying in about $2,000. That’s one of my credit card balances. The good news is that this is the last major bill I have been saving up for, so after the wedding – it is full speed ahead on getting the credit cards paid off.
– I found a new website that might interest some of you crafty folks out there. This one is called craftgawker.com and its a sister site to one of my favorite food sites – Foodgawker.com. Both of them operate on the same premise – bloggers out there submit their craft ideas or recent recipe acheivements along with a photo and a brief description. If they like you (Foodgawker has never liked me – ahem – much to my dismay …), they will post your item on their website and people can click on your photo and be automatically directed to your blog. I’m not the craftiest person in the world, but there were some really neat ideas on this site. I also like that some of the projects encourage people to use items that they have on hand. A thrifty idea if there ever was one.
OK friends – I have a bunch of work this morning to do before I head to my job, so cheers to you all. The next time I write, I’m going to be Mrs. Future Husband. 🙂 Man, I’m just thrilled.
