Simplifying My Life

I’m participating in a study group at my office that is devoted to learning how to “simplifying your life.” The group is working off of a seven-week program developed by Marcia Ramsland.

The book we’re studying is called “Simplify Your Life” and before you go out there and look into this program – I will warn the more secular of those among you that this is based off of a verse in the book of Proverbs. (The combination of organization and the religious aspect of this program caused my husband to quip “Who are you again?”) But I have to be honest, I really don’t care where the method of madness comes for this organization as long as it helps me find time in the day to blog, go to the gym, work, clean my house, be a good wife, be a good daughter and still have some sort of semblance of a social life. And have I ever mentioned that I don’t have kids yet? Compared to some of the other women in my group – mothers who are in charge of toddlers to teens – I think my life is laughably easy. Yet, I am one of the most disorganized people that I know …

When we went around and verbalized what we wanted to get out of this class, my hope is that after this seven-week program, I am sufficiently organized to start tackling and completing some of the “big” projects that I have in my life that I’ve been meaning to finish for … oh, years.

I’ll keep you posted on how this goes … My mindset is that the organized life equals a frugal life. These are tools towards that direction …
