There are a number of websites, like TexasDebtRelief.org and [insert state name]DebtRelief.org, that offer you free resources, then earn a referral free by sending you to a local (hopefully) debt relief or debt consolidation company. These aren't scams, exactly -- they're just referral sites.

You may also save up to 40% on debt program fees by using in-state Texas companies. 

I thought my Texas readers might appreciate a little background on all these carpetbagging, Yankee debt relief programs, plus some help navigating all the different debt relief and debt consolidation companies actually in Texas.

Texas Debt Relief: TexasDebtRelief.org Reviews

TexasDebtRelief.org is just a national operation that bought up domains for every state, i.e. VirginiaDebtRelief.org, CaliforniaDebtRelief.org, and on and on. 

It has some good resources, but it's not authentically Texan! TexasDebtRelief.org will just refer you to a Texas-based (hopefully) debt relief company and earn itself a referral fee. They give you some free resources in exchange for some free resources and BAM, you're trotted out to their referral client.

Yeah, I went through TexasDebtRelief.org's questionnaire recently. What I found was an interesting experience is that I believe another company reaches out, not Texas Debt Relief. I checked the BBB link on the Texas Debt Relief org page and it took me to a marketing agency BBB. Basically, from my experience, I gathered that this company essentially refers out to another volume, so you'd have to look at the reviews of the other company.

 

Is Texas Debt Relief Legit? Or Is TexasDebtRelief.Org a Scam?

 The "Texas Debt Relief" website is legit, so to speak. It's just not a Texas Debt Relief company, so much as a referral website. 

The "Texas Debt Relief" resources found on TexasDebtRelief.Org are good. They're just not specifically for Texas residents. The TexasDebtRelief.Org resources were designed for a broader, national audience.

This is a great company in my experience, especially if you're in the DFW area. Here are a couple customer reviews

Before contacting Debt Redemption I meet with a bankruptcy attorney who told me that even though I was drowning in credit card debt, due to my income I could not qualify for a Chapter 7 bankruptcy and that I would have to pay back most of my debt in a Chapter 13 repayment. Apparently very few people qualify for a Chapter 7 because of some newer regulations from pushed by the greedy banks. When I asked why I would want to file bankruptcy if I had to pay back the debt, the bankruptcy attorney said if I go with a debt consolidation company I will get harassed by creditors and sued by my most of creditors. It could tell right off the bat the attorney was trying to push me hard into filing bankruptcy so he could earn his thousands in attorney fees. Well here I am 6 months away from completing the Debt Redemption Program and I have not been harassed and I have not been sued any of by my creditors because Debt Redemption is partnered with the top debt defense attorney in Texas who protected me from being sue. • 5 Stars: I had see Debt Redemption on the local KEYE new several times but didn't call right away thinking something might change and I could pay my debts paid down. It was just wishful thinking that cost me dearly throwing away over $2500 every month to the credit card payments at with all of my interest rates over 20 percent. Debt Redemption was able to provide me a debt relief program that is less than half of the $2500 I was paying before and it's only going to take 4 years to pay off the debts. I've been in the program a while and they have been settling my debts exactly as they said the would. Even if I could of kept paying the $2500 I don't think I would have ever been able to pay them off without this help.
